May 22, 2026 – Raaw Energy Dog Food of Howell, New Jersey, announced a voluntary recall of products manufactured between 7/17/25 and 12/23/25 due to potential contamination with Listeria. An additional batch dated 3/31/26 for the Beef and Turkey Medley recipe was also included in the recall.

While not all products from this production period tested positive, some items manufactured during these dates were not tested. Because bacterial contamination was identified within the same timeframe, any products produced during these dates may potentially be affected.

What You Need to Know About Listeria Monocytogenes Poisoning

Listeria monocytogenes infections in pets are rare but can cause signs like diarrhea, anorexia, fever, nervous, muscular, and respiratory issues, miscarriage, depression, shock, and death.

Pets can be carriers even without signs, spreading the bacteria through their feces and saliva to their environment and other pets or people. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and shows signs, contact your veterinarian.

There is a risk to humans from handling these contaminated foods, especially if they have not washed their hands after having contact with the products or surfaces exposed to these pet foods.

Healthy people infected with Listeria monocytogenes may experience symptoms like nausea, vomiting, aches, fever, and diarrhea. The infection can spread to the nervous system, causing meningitis and other serious illnesses. Pregnant women, the young, elderly, and those with weak immune systems are especially vulnerable.
