It’s also a black corner box, so it can help save space, has the same nonstick antimicrobial surface for easy cleaning, and has a lower entranceway.

On the downside, this litter box, while high, will not contain the litter if your cat is a kicker. Or if your cat pees high, she might manage to urinate outside the litter box. We also found that the company placed their product sticker in the bottom of the litter box and was quite difficult to remove. This takes away from the nonstick aspects that they claim.

6. Catit Magic Blue Litter Box

The Catit Magic Litter Box is a black litter box with a white hood, which should help keep the litter inside. It also has a detachable door that can add an additional barrier to litter scatter and helps keep the odor from entering your house. It comes with what they call a Magic Blue filter, which is located on the top of the hood and absorbs the ammonia gases for up to one month. This particular box is in the jumbo size, so it should easily fit even those larger felines.

Unfortunately, we thought it was a little expensive for a relatively simple litter box. We also found that the door flap didn’t always work as it tended to get stuck. Lastly, the box itself feels lightweight and not as sturdy as some of the other boxes on our list.

7. Catit Cat Pan with Rim

The Catit Cat Pan with Rim is a unique litter box with a sloped design, so it’s higher towards the back, has a large rim, and is light gray. All of this does a good job at keeping the litter inside the box and for a reasonable price. It also has an anchor that helps to keep litter liners in place and is large enough for bigger cats. The front of the box is also low enough that older cats or those with mobility issues shouldn’t have too much trouble getting inside.

The disadvantages include that while the low entry is great, it can also allow your cat to kick the litter out if she tends to kick in that direction. We also found that the plastic material didn’t feel sturdy, and in some cases, it cracked after a period of time.

8. Frisco Leaf High-Sided Litter Box

It’s actually got the name “leaf” in the title because of its appearance—when you look at it (particularly from above), it has an attractive leaf-like shape in a light beige color. It’s made from flexible BPA-free plastic, so it can be squeezed together into a spout when emptying. It also has a large and low entranceway making it accessible.

We found that the handle that helps you to pick it up for cleaning tends to break after some use, and while it does have high sides, it wasn’t as effective for containing the litter as we would have liked. We also found that it was relatively small and wouldn’t work well for larger cats.

We thought that for a hooded litter box, that this was more expensive than some of the others out there. We also found that the door was not designed well. More often than not, the door got stuck so that the cat couldn’t access the litter box or wasn’t able to get out. Lastly, we found that if a cat tends to pee high, the urine escapes through the seam between the hood and the base.

The measurements above are for the large size, but it also comes in regular (20” x 17” x 16.5”) for those of you with small cats and is relatively inexpensive.

We found that the plastic this litter box is made from was quite flimsy and cracked easily. You also should ensure you’re using really good clumping litter and that you need to roll frequently, or you’ll end up with a bit of a mess on your hands. The clumps might break apart, or if your cat pees in the wrong spot, you might just distribute the urine all over the place. We also found that the clumps would sometimes stick to the sides after rolling. Lastly, the large might still not be large enough for some cats.
